Freedom for eritreans

Daniel Kiflom, Director of engineering department of the Eritrean Television defects the tyrannical PFDJ regime in Eritrea and seeks political asylum in the UK.
Mr Daniel’s asylum claim follows the defection of the former Minister of Information, Ali Abdu, who sought asylum in Canada last month.

According to sources, Daniel Kiflom and Ali Abdu were very close. Thus his departure was a natural move as he could have been exposed to danger given the nature of their relationship.
Daniel who has been serving in the Ministry of Information since 1993 had been to France, Bahrain, Dubai, Netherland, Italy and recently to the UK for professional training purposes and work related visits.
Losing a director of the key department within the Eritrean television is going to be a heavy blow to the Ministry of Information which is already suffering due to a series of defections of its well experienced journalists and technicians.
